Lansing
The Michigan law firm of Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C. is pleased to announce that Richard C. Kraus of the Lansing office has become a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. The Litigation Counsel of America is a highly selective, invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society, with membership limited to 3500 Fellows. That number represents only one half of one percent of American lawyers. Members are selected by achievement in litigation, both at trial and appellate levels. They must also have an exceptional ethical reputation.
Mr. Kraus focuses his practice in the areas of health care law, appeals, commercial litigation, constitutional litigation, and economic crimes defense. He is a frequent presenter on Health Care Fraud and Abuse; Licensing and Discipline of Health Care Professionals; and Effective Written Advocacy. He was honored as 2006 Lawyer of the Year by Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly, and received the Distinguished Brief Award for Exceptional Appellate Advocacy before the Michigan Supreme Court.
Mr. Kraus is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College, cum laude and earned his undergraduate degree, with distinction, from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Claims Court. Mr. Kraus is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Ingham County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Inns of Court (Michigan State University School of Law Chapter), and the American Health Lawyers Association.
