LANSING, Mich. –The Common Ground Festival will feature a new live printmaking event this year sponsored by Foster Swift. Kimberly Lavon is an award winning local artist and author who will be offering attendees the chance to customize and purchase their own limited edition Common Ground posters. The posters will vary each day and customers can modify six different blocks with various colors and designs.

"It's exciting to see how music festivals are evolving by adding new experiences for attendees," said Charles Janssen, Foster Swift Attorney and Commissioner of the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority. "We are pleased to sponsor this and are thrilled to have a local artist."

Artist Kimberly Lavon practices in printmaking, drawing and graphic design. She received a BFA in Printmaking & Graphic Design from Kendall College of Art & Design.  Most recently, Lavon opened her own print and design studio in downtown East Lansing. The studio features a fine art gallery in addition to offering printmaking and drawing workshops.

Common Ground kicks off July 7 and will extend through the 12. There will be 61 different performances from artists of multiple genres. Additionally, there will be other events including: a color run, hammock hangout, ultimate painting, and zip-lining. Common Ground will be held at Adado Riverfront Park in Lansing, MI.
