Lansing, Mich. – Richard Kraus, a shareholder in Foster Swift’s Lansing Office, has been elected as Chair of the American Institute of Appellate Practice (AIAP). The Institute was formed under the auspices of the Litigation Counsel of America, a national honorary society of experienced trial and appellate attorneys. The mission of the AIAP is to advance the practice of appellate advocacy by fostering a nationwide network of highly skilled appellate attorneys to engage in professional development, become an established resource for those desiring to retain appellate representation, and promote collegiality and cooperation among its members.
Richard Kraus has 30 years of experience in the areas of health care law, appeals, commercial litigation, constitutional litigation and economic crimes defense. As an appellate lawyer, Kraus has handled difficult cases at all levels of state and federal appeals courts, with recognized expertise in the written and oral advocacy necessary for success in appeals. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College.
