LANSING, Mich. – Foster Swift Attorney Nichole Derks was re-appointed co-chair on the SBM Criminal Jurisprudence and Practice Committee for 2015-2016. This is the largest standing committee of the State Bar, and is comprised of attorneys from across Michigan. The primary duty of the committee is to review proposed court rules and statutes related to criminal procedure and practice in state courts. From here recommendations are made concerning improvements in the operation of criminal law and procedures.
Derks has enjoyed serving on this committee over the years and was honored to be re-appointed. This role has provided her the opportunity to generate meaningful work.
