LANSING, Mich. — Super Lawyers: Corporate Counsel Edition announced in their March/ April issue that two new lawyers were added to the list of Super Lawyers in Mich: Scott L. Mandel and Webb A. Smith of Foster, Swift, Collins and Smith, PC in Lansing.
Super Lawyers is a monthly magazine featuring articles, lists and contact information for lawyers that they have deemed "super lawyers." According to their website, the magazine has, "outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement."
The two new additions to this magazine are both experienced in business litigation among other practices and both attended Michigan State University for their undergraduate degrees. After MSU, Mandel attended Wayne State University for his law degree, where he graduated cum laude. His other awards consist of American Lawyer, Top Commercial Litigation lawyers, the Theodore W. Swift Civility Award, and Best Lawyers in America from Best Lawyers annual referral guide.
Smith graduated with his law degree from the University of Michigan and has received many awards over the course of his career including Excellence in Defense Award from the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel , Best Lawyers in America from Best Lawyers annual referral guide and the Leo A. Farhat Outstanding Attorney Award.
The Super Lawyers publication goes through a rigorous selection process; it combines nominations from peers with evaluations and third party research. This process, which occurs annually, is to create, "a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel." Super Lawyers has been published for 19 years, starting in 1991.
