GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Foster Swift is pleased to welcome an additional two attorneys to the firm’s Grand Rapids office. Joshua Wease and Kari Sherry have joined Foster Swift’s Business and Corporate practice group. Wease's practice focuses on tax law, while Sherry's practice includes business transactions, business planning and tax planning.
Prior to joining Foster Swift, Wease was a managing partner at Wease Halloran PLC, a boutique tax law firm in Lansing. He completed both his undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees at Michigan State University and Michigan State University College of Law, respectively. He completed an LLM in trial advocacy at Temple University's Beasely School of Law.
In addition to her law degree, Kari is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Foster Swift, she also practiced at Wease Halloran. Kari received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University and her juris doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated cum laude and concentrated on business transactions. She is currently studying for an LLM in taxation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School
Wease and Sherry accompany attorneys Fred Dilley and Karl Butterer, who have joined the Grand Rapids office in recent months. Fred Dilley returned to Foster Swift in March of 2012 after more than 30 years of highly successful legal experience in private practice, litigation and mediation. Butterer began at Foster Swift in August of 2012, after more than 15 years of highly successful legal experience representing governmental entities, manufacturers, small businesses, hospitals, and large corporations. Also, attorney Nichole Jongsma Derks, who has been at Foster Swift since 2009 in the Lansing office relocated to the Holland office this past fall.
