ITAR & Export Control Training

Jean Schtokal presented an all-day training session on ITAR & Export Control on April 14, 2015, at the Traverse City Michigan Works! location. The program was also conducted in Houghton on April 16, 2015. These events are sponsored by the Northern Michigan Global Trade Alliance and the Northwest Michigan Procurement Technical Assistance Center. 

The seminar provided business owners and managers a broad overview of regulatory and licensing considerations, commonly referred to "Export Controls" that affect exporting. The main focus of the program was on ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and the roles and importance of EAR (Export Administration Regulations). OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) were also covered. Experts from the FBI provided actual case studies and best practices to protect your business and technology.
