GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Foster Swift attorney Laura Genovich was one of three recipients of the 2017 Grand Rapids Bar Association's (GRBA) 3-In-10 Award, presented to her during its annual meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2017. This award is presented to attorneys who have demonstrated professional achievements, exceptional public services and legal contributions during their first 10 years of practice.
Genovich is a shareholder at Foster Swift, and focuses her practice on municipal law, school law, bankruptcy law and commercial litigation. Genovich has many significant career highlights, such as being the youngest bankruptcy trustee in the country when appointed in 2011; has administered more than 3,000 cases; recently completed a two-year term as Chairperson of the Federal Bar Association; and was named a Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star.
Genovich enjoys writing and speaking about the law, so when a new case or statute impacts her clients, she is quick to share the breaking news and advise. Genovich also writes for Foster Swift's Michigan Bankruptcy Blog, and regularly presents at municipal law and bankruptcy seminars. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
